The house is amazing, and in great shape (a bit less rustic than I expected)

I've been putting off writing this review because I am still so sad we had to leave a week ago! Staying at La Peetch was one of the best experiences of my life. My husband, four friends and I stayed at the house for five nights and loved every minute of it. The house is amazing, and in great shape (a bit less rustic than I expected), and the pool is A++. And, needless to say, every minute in the kitchen was pure bliss. I spent a lot of time cooking — there were lots of basic ingredients already there, which was very helpful! I didn't get to meet Makenna, but Ryn was there to help, and was available to answer any questions we had. A few tips for future visitors: - Be careful on the driveway! And as small of a car as you can (for the south of France in general); there are so many narrow roads, driving up hills/mountains, etc. It's terrifying if you're not used to that kind of driving! - There is an incredible fig tree outside the house. If the figs are in season, eat them! Every day! So amazing. Same with the cherry tomatoes from the garden. - There are so many great little hill towns to visit within only a half hour drive. Really loved Antibes and the Provencal Market there, Tourette-Sur-Loup (tiny medieval town that produces lots of violette), and downtown Grasse. - If you're visiting in the summer and mosquitos like you, bring bug spray. Thanks, Makenna, for making this incredible home available to us! We booked our trip very soon after La Peetch became available on Airbnb, over a year and a half ago, and I'm so glad we did! I left with tons of cooking inspiration and incredible memories. I would go back in a heartbeat (and maybe will someday!). Review from https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10698076

The property is absolutely beautiful

Our stay at La Pitchoune was everything we had hoped for and more. The property is absolutely beautiful - house, gardens, pool and of course, the kitchen. We shopped each day at La Poissonnerie de Valbonne and cooked amazing meals in Julia's kitchen. Our group included my 87 year-old father and he confirmed that this was the best vacation he has ever had... and he has traveled extensively. Our memories are nothing but happiness! "Our family had an amazing time"

Our family had an amazing time. Makenna and Chris were gracious hosts and gave us wonderful recommendations. We asked for cooking classes and my daughter thought it was the best thing in the world. This is a truly magical place and we plan on coming back every year! I highly recommend staying in this incredible place. Review from https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10698076

"It is everything you think it will be"

It is everything you think it will be- the moment you first step into the kitchen, you will gasp. You will have moments throughout where it seems surreal and unimaginable that you are cooking in JC's kitchen, in her house. You will routinely question whether you are living in a photo shoot as you dine on the patio or lay by the pool or do yoga on the platform behind the house, stopping to eat a kumquat on your way back to the house. And yet, it is comfortable and cozy. The living room is perfect for reading or convening intensive girl talks, and there are touches everywhere that assist- whether the wireless speaker or Lulu or India, the local "wildlife" :) The bedrooms are all climate controlled and the beds and linens are remarkably luxurious and we all drooled over the bathrooms and bathtubs. Our hosts were incredibly responsive, and even greeted us with an insane spread to greet us, and flowers throughout the house. The kitchen easily accommodated 6 women and our chef for cooking lessons...It was a week in paradise, worth every red cent, and we'd do it all over again. The entire week was enchanted

cannot find enough superlatives to describe how lovely our stay was and how fondly I and my guests will remember it. Chef Dominee exceeded our wildest dreams for my 70th birthday party - a 7-course soiree that showcased her mastery and filled all our senses! It was a slice of Foodie Heaven. The entire week was enchanted. I/we shall return. ZUT ALOR! Review from https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10698076

La Pitchoune is a true treasure

La Pitchoune is a true treasure in the heart of a region celebrated for amazing cuisine and scenery. There were four of us who shared the space, and it was beyond comfortable as well as charming. We cooked multiple meals, traveled the area for delicious outings, and delighted in stories of Julia and Paul. What a trip if a lifetime! Review from https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10698076

We could not be happier with the experience

This trip was to mark several milestones in the lives of six best friends. We could not be happier with the experience — we loved every second of every minute of every day. The house is perfect in all ways and serves as the perfect location for day trips to the many sites in the area. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts on the veranda, lunch out, and dinners from Julia’s kitchen. The rooms are all well-appointed and the linens of excellent quality. Ample dishes for every type meal are available and, as expected, a well-equipped kitchen. Each room has its own zone for HVAC which is a major advantage for women of a certain age. Julia’s presence is still very much felt, especially in the red bedroom. We appreciate the considerate care we received from concierges Craig and Tina, followed by Rick and Julie. We wish we didn’t have to wait another two years to return, but are so happy to know many people will have the opportunity to enjoy this top-notch, magical experience.

La pitchoune was everything we dreamt of

La pitchoune was everything we dreamt off. Absolutely perfect. It was amazing to live Julia moments and so much better when it’s her old space. Craig and Tina were perfect hosts, so hospitable and helpful. Would love to go there again. Review from https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10698076

The property is gorgeous

What can I say? It was the beginning of the trip of a lifetime. The property is gorgeous, more then comfortable and THE kitchen! We cooked and cooked and laughed and drank copious amounts of great 5 euro wine (thanks for the tip Craig!) the welcome from Tina and Craig as well as the goodbye made us feel like family. We’ll be back!
